Tips & Suggestions

  • Use NEW quality packing boxes, so you don't have to worry about storing unwanted guests or having problems with busted boxes.

  • Pack each box completely to prevent any boxes from collapsing or shifting.

  • Pack heavier, bulky items in smaller boxes for easier moving. Label the boxes on top and several sides for easy identification.

  • Store clothing in wardrobe boxes, so you can hang your garments and preserve their appearance.

  • Use the same sized boxes for easier stacking, and seal them completely with packing tape to keep out dust and unwanted guests. Properly sealed boxes are also less likely to collapse under extreme weight.

  • Protect mattresses and furniture from dust and damage with pads and covers.

  • Wrap mirrors, glass, and pictures frames with paper pads or card board sheets. Stack them standing on one end, and alternate the stacking by placing them face to face and back to back.

  • Disassemble tables and shelves and store on their sides. Wrap and mark all pieces for easier re-assembly.

  • Stack larger items in the back of the storage unit, and fill in with boxes and odd shaped items. Ideally, leave an open center aisle to give you easier access to all items.

  • Use shelving to maximize your storage space, or store items you'll need most often at the front of your storage unit.

  • Thoroughly clean refrigerators and freezers before storing, and keep their doors either completely open or slightly ajar. Remember to use the space inside of refrigerators and freezers for extra storage.
